At Saporo, we are redefining how organizations understand and control their attack surface. Our mission is to help defenders anticipate and prevent identity-driven attacks — before adversaries exploit them.

We build technology that continuously models and analyzes complex access relationships across Active Directory, Azure AD, Google Workspace, AWS, and Okta, revealing hidden attack paths and prioritizing the most impactful risks to fix first.

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll design, build, and scale the systems that power Saporo’s graph-based analysis engine — from data ingestion and correlation to attack path computation and API delivery. You’ll work as part of our backend engineering team, reporting to the Head of Engineering, and collaborate closely with our Backend Tech Lead, who provides hands-on technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship.

This is a great opportunity to work on complex technical challenges with an experienced team that values craftsmanship, autonomy, and impact.

What you will do

  • Design and implement scalable backend services that analyze and model large enterprise identity and access datasets.

  • Build and maintain APIs and pipelines that power Saporo’s attack path and exposure analysis engine.

  • Collaborate with the Backend Tech Lead to ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security.

  • Work with the Head of Engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver features that align with product and research goals.

  • Optimize data processing, storage, and graph queries for performance and accuracy.

  • Participate in design reviews, technical planning, and knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in reliability, scalability, and developer experience.

What you bring

  • 3–6 years of experience as a software engineer in backend development.

  • Proficiency in Go (Golang) and SQL — these are our core backend languages.

  • Experience with Docker, Git, GitHub, and modern CI/CD workflows.

  • Understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, or graph databases (Memgraph, Neo4j, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Python, Cypher, or REST API development is a plus.

  • Interest or experience in cybersecurity, identity management, or enterprise infrastructure (Active Directory, Azure AD, etc.).

  • Comfortable collaborating in a remote-first team using tools like Linear, Figma, and Cursor.

  • Pragmatic, curious, and detail-oriented — you write code that is clean, reliable, and easy to maintain.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and equity in a fast-growing cybersecurity company.

  • Comprehensive health insurance (US employees).

  • Generous paid time off: 25 vacation days + 10 public holidays annually for all employees.

  • Remote-first culture — work from anywhere in Europe (or compatible time zones).

  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact security product trusted by leading organizations worldwide.

  • Modern tooling and workflow — Linear, GitHub, Figma, Memgraph, Cursor, and more.

  • Collaborative, engineering-driven environment with autonomy, ownership, and a focus on meaningful work.

  • A merit first mission-driven team passionate about building cool tech.
